Transcript:
I can say it really is a relief. Thank God it’s all over. As I remember, last winter and now again, all the time there was speculation in the newspapers where I would end up. So, thank God it’s over now. This will help clearing my mind and I really wanted to make this move. Now that this is over, I can focus on EURO 2008 and giving the best possible performance there.
Phenomenal, it’s needless to say, London is great! The training grounds are not far out, just a half hour drive. I think I’m really going to like it here!
And one more interview here:
Transcript:
Welcome, what are your emotions on joining Tottenham Hotspurs at the moment?
- Thank you, I’m very happy to be here and proud to arrive to such a big club like Tottenham. I’m very pleased that the manager and the board wanted me. That was very important to me and I hope to fulfill all the expectations from them and the club supporters as well.Your name was linked with many football clubs recently. Was it a hard decision to join the Spurs?
- It wasn’t a hard decision. I got a call from the club executive and he told me that everything is arranged and I agreed with that. I wanted to come here and it wasn’t a bad decision because this is a very big club. What are your ambitions with Tottenham?
- I want to be in the top of the Premiership with Tottenham because this club deserves it and I want to help them with that. I also want to play in the Champions League, If not there is the Uefa Cup next year and I hope we’ll achieve good results.Have you always been a follower of the English football?
- I do follow English football a great deal, especially Eduardo, Corluka and Niko arrived to England. What challenges do you feel the English football will present to you? Maybe physicality and the speed of the game?
- Yes, the speed and tempo of the game and also the fact that there’s a lot of people attending the matches which is very nice… speed of the game and that’s it.What are your expectations from the European Championship?
- I think we can expect a lot because we have proven we play great football and that we can against the strongest teams and If we repeat those performances I think we can achieve a lot in Europe, but the priority goal is to pass the group because Croatia wasn’t very successful with that lately and that will be the primary target for this generation.English fans know you mostly from the Wembley match. What are your memories of that game?
- It really was a phenomenal match and I was impressed with the atmosphere and the way we played against one of the strongest teams in the world… We have beaten England twice but that day on Wembley was the heyday of the Croatian national team.
